About the Speaker
Mary Alice Gran, author of A CHILD IS BORN and THE FIRST THREE YEARS A
GUIDE FOR MINISTRY WITH INFANTS, TODDLERS AND TWO YEAR OLDS. Rev. Gran
is the Director of Children’s Ministry at The General Board of
Discipleship for The United Methodist Church. Her ministry centers
around children’s ministries in congregations of all sizes. Prior to
joining the staff at GBOD 15 years ago, she worked in large UM
congregations in the Midwest. She is married to Rev. Brad Gran. They
both enjoy currently sharing ministry in a small membership congregation
and will be happy to talk about the exploits of their five
